Institute of Science and Technology (IST) and Bangladesh Association of Women Scientist (BAWS) jointly hosted a webinar to celebrate the golden jubilee of independence of Bangladesh on 10th April,2021 at 10.30 am. This webinar was the 14th episode of the series of webinars titled ‘50 Years of Independence of Bangladesh: Progress of Women in Different Fields’. The keynote speaker of the program was Emeritus Professor Dr. Shahida Rafique, Chairman of IST and President of BAWS.

The day-long webinar was divided into two sessions. Speakers were Dr. Saleh Mohammad Rafique, Administrative Director of IST, Dr. Mahmuda Khatun, Former Director, DGHS of Bangladesh, Farida Nasreen, Former Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance of the Government of Bangladesh, Professor M.A. Mazid, Academic Director of IST, Dr. Md. Yunus Miah, Director, Diploma Engineering, Runa Rukshana Khan, Associate Professor and Deputy Academic Director of IST, Saima Begum, Vice President of BAWS, Dr. Sharmin Parveen, Professor and Head of Health Informatics & Dean of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences at BUHS and Chair, OWSD Bangladesh National Chapter, Muhammad Ashfaqur Rahman, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Business Administration, Dr. Galib Hashmi, Associate Professor, Dept. of ECE, Nafia Laila, Associate Professor, Dept. of Business Administration, Saleh Muhammad Maruf, Assistant Professor and Head, Dept. of CSE, Nusrat Ferdous, Assistant Professor and Head, Dept. of ECE, IST and General Secretary of BAWS,  and other faculty members of IST from Engineering and Business faculty. The webinar was conducted by Ditee Yasmeen, Assistant Professor, Dept. of CSE, and Program Coordinator of BAWS.
