With joint honors in Mathematics and Physics, Mohammed completed Masters in Nuclear Physics and PhD in High Energy Theoretical Physics and String Theory from McGill University, Canada. He also held postdoctoral research faculty positions at Columbia University in the city of New York and Purdue University in Indiana, USA.
After a successful academic career, Mohammed spent the next decade in energy trading and investments, serving as Vice President of Citigroup Global Markets Inc, Director of Uniper, a leading German Energy Company and Vice President of Orion Infrastructure Capital, a New York based Private Equity.
Mohammed is a key organizer of the Bangladeshi diaspora community, advocating for democracy, citizen rights, and economic empowerment for over two decades. As a co-founder and driving force behind the US-Bangladesh United Initiative (UBUI), he is committed to strengthening U.S.-Bangladesh relations and fostering opportunities for the Bangladeshi-American community.
